It Takes a Village...

There is an old saying of, "Do not put all of your eggs into one basket", which usually applies to many of us for many situations. But what if putting all of your eggs into one basket was the only solution to certain stages in your life? This is what happened in our family. Our adult daughter and her three children came to "stay" with us while searching for their own place to live. At the same time our adult son wanted to live at home while getting his YouTube up and running, and add into the mix my elderly mother put her house up for sale and planned on moving in with us. My husband and I essentially went from having an empty nest, to looking for a home that would be able to house nine people. Oh yes, my brother maybe joining us also. As I took a deep breath and held it for a long time, we realized that this was really about to happen, For almost two months my daughter and I threw ourselves into an exhausting house hunt, school searching. While viewing a house and getting really frustrated over the process, we looked at each other and wondered out loud if there were others out there that are going through the same stages in life. Thus My Eggs in a Basket was created.

There will be 4 generations living under one roof consisting of great grandmother, great-uncle, uncle, children, siblings and grandchildren. If it really takes a village to raise a child, we will have enough villagers to accomplish the task. This blog is our journey of on how we will set up, manage and pass on what we have learned.
